Operations Control Supervisor (Part-Time)

This position is a part-time role requiring 20 hours of work per week, with an initial full-time commitment for training during the first few months.

What does the role entail?

Are you an adept professional in incident management looking to advance your career? As an Operations Control Supervisor, you will oversee the operational efficiency of the control room and implement the daily operational strategy. You will serve as a central point of contact within the control center, gathering and disseminating information to relevant teams, managing incidents to minimize escalations and disruptions.

In a dynamic and high-pressure environment, you will need to demonstrate quick decision-making skills and the ability to recognize trends and patterns, taking appropriate actions as necessary.

As the Operations Control Supervisor at Gatwick Airport, your responsibilities will include:

Providing motivational leadership, performance management, coaching, and development to a small team, fostering continuous improvement and engagement. Proactively addressing risks and minimizing disruptions while ensuring the control center effectively responds to unforeseen incidents, utilizing insights from past experiences. Cultivating and maintaining relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to enhance daily communication. Collaborating with the broader operations community to strategize and implement more efficient working methods, ensuring cost-effective operations. Evaluating processes and procedures to identify and incorporate innovative practices. Streamlining operations to enhance business efficiency. Understanding operational costs to drive performance improvements.

Do you possess the qualifications we seek?

Ability to identify trends and patterns. Proven experience in driving organizational change through detailed data analysis and critical thinking. Exceptional leadership skills with a focus on teamwork and facilitating organizational change. Experience in managing incidents or crises and motivating a team to achieve optimal outcomes under pressure. Familiarity with a control center environment is advantageous. Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying information clearly to a variety of internal and external stakeholders, both in writing and verbally. Strong analytical skills to recognize trends and enhance business performance, as well as manage key performance indicators and hold stakeholders accountable when necessary. Innovative mindset with the ability to inspire new ideas. Adaptable, able to respond to changing circumstances and priorities, embracing new working methods while facilitating change. Proficient in utilizing data to manage business processes and ensure that suppliers and third parties meet performance standards. Detail-oriented with a strong focus on data accuracy and analysis. A problem solver who addresses root causes in a fast-paced environment and implements effective changes as needed. Capable of thinking creatively to achieve positive outcomes. Passionate about developing and inspiring others. Able to maintain composure and focus in high-stress situations.
