Transport Administrator

Menzies Distribution Limited is seeking a skilled Transport Administrator to enhance our operational efficiency within the transport sector. This role is pivotal in ensuring seamless logistics processes and superior service delivery. The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative capabilities, exceptional interpersonal skills, and a meticulous approach to system processes and reporting, which are essential in the transport industry.

KEY DETAILS:

  • Shift Structure: 4 On / 4 Off
  • Working Hours: 06:00-18:00, totaling 42 hours weekly.
  • Compensation: £31,608.00 annually
  • Monthly Salary Payments

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee all administrative tasks related to transport operations.
  • Engage with both internal and external stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and drivers.
  • Facilitate the timely dispatch of outbound vehicles and monitor their progress.
  • Coordinate with the warehouse team regarding the arrival of inbound vehicles.
  • Identify and analyze trends in operational issues.
  • Propose enhancements to improve customer service delivery.
  • Assist in route planning and optimization.
  • Ensure compliance with legal standards by monitoring drivers' hours and managing tachograph downloads.
  • Respond promptly to vehicle breakdowns and defect reports.
  • Perform various administrative duties as required.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Basic understanding of transport regulations and logistics operations.
  • Experience in generating reports and statistics promptly.
  • Background in a customer-centric, time-sensitive environment with varying workloads.
  • Able to respond quickly to information and resolve routing challenges.
  • Proficient computer skills are essential; familiarity with transport management systems is advantageous.
  • Willingness to work night shifts as needed.
