We are collaborating with a charitable organization seeking a Senior HR Manager for a fixed-term engagement. This role is pivotal in steering the HR functions and ensuring alignment with the organization's mission.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional support to the Head of Governance and HR, delivering timely and relevant updates and reports for the Executive Team.
  • Occasionally represent the Head of Governance and HR in meetings with senior leadership.
  • Maintain and enhance HR policies, ensuring they meet the evolving needs of the organization and its workforce, while identifying gaps and developing new policies as necessary.
  • Champion the organization’s EDI policy, ensuring its effective implementation across all activities.
  • Conduct thorough investigations into employee grievances and external complaints, compiling reports and suggesting actionable recommendations.
  • Assist in preparing for the next Investors in People external assessment, ensuring HR practices align with established standards.
  • Develop and implement a Cultural Competency Framework tailored for the organization.
  • Oversee responses to HR-related Subject Access Requests.
  • Collaborate with the HR Business Partner in managing recruitment and selection processes, participating as an HR representative on interview panels for senior positions.

Required Experience:

  • Strong understanding of the local community or a demonstrated willingness to quickly acquire knowledge.
  • Proven experience in change management.
  • Proficiency in Access Select HR and MS Office software.

Essential Skills and Knowledge:

  • Extensive experience in HR operations, with a focus on developing and reviewing HR policies in a nonprofit or similar environment.
  • Solid grasp of employment law, with a commitment to staying updated on legislative changes.
  • A genuine passion for EDI, with the ability to communicate creatively and engagingly on the subject.
