Grants & Compliance Manager

As a vital member of the Operations team, you will oversee the processing of both outgoing and incoming grants, ensuring that our organization adheres to all legal and regulatory standards. Additionally, you will play a key role in supporting various risk management initiatives, including cybersecurity measures. This position is based in London.

Grants are fundamental to Longview's mission of mitigating risks associated with global challenges through impactful philanthropy. We provide funding to leading experts and organizations dedicated to addressing critical issues such as artificial intelligence and nuclear threats. The Grants & Compliance Manager will manage the distribution of millions of dollars in grants each year, ensuring that our grantees are equipped with the necessary resources to advance their important work.

Grants Management Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the processing of outgoing grants to our recipients.
  • Ensure all grants align with our Grantmaking Policy and comply with legal obligations.
  • Oversee comprehensive reporting from grantees.
  • Manage the receipt of incoming grants to Longview.
  • Enhance and maintain our grants tracking systems.

Compliance Duties

  • Collaborate with our accountant to prepare and review financial statements for our UK operations.
  • Meet statutory reporting obligations for our UK entity.
  • Ensure compliance requirements are met by our UK entity's board.
  • Implement compliance policies throughout the organization.

Risk Management Functions

  • Lead the development and execution of our cybersecurity strategy.
  • Oversee the review and management of our insurance policies.
  • Assist in due diligence assessments of external stakeholders.
  • Support the overall risk management framework.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in nonprofit operations.
  • Experience in legal compliance and/or grants management within the nonprofit sector.
  • Knowledge of the UK nonprofit legal and regulatory landscape.
  • Familiarity with grants management processes in charitable organizations, preferably in the UK.
  • A proactive approach to systems improvement, with a focus on enhancing operational efficiency.
  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of engaging with both internal teams and high-stakes external partners.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, particularly in executing critical tasks such as multi-million dollar transactions.

Compensation, Benefits, and Work Environment

  • This is a full-time position based in our East London office.
    • We may offer sponsorship for UK work visas for qualified candidates.
  • Annual salary of £60,000, commensurate with experience and skills.
  • Benefits package includes:
