The Compliance and Grants Operations Manager will collaborate with the Operations team to oversee the processing of both outgoing and incoming grants, ensuring adherence to legal and regulatory standards while supporting various risk management initiatives, including cybersecurity.

The Compliance and Grants Operations Manager will focus on minimizing regulatory risks, fulfilling legal obligations, and enabling the organization to pursue its impactful mission.

Key Responsibilities


The Compliance and Grants Operations Manager will enhance and maintain our grants processing systems, which include managing the receipt and distribution of millions of dollars in grants annually.

They will assist the organization in meeting its legal and regulatory obligations, particularly concerning Longview's UK entities. Additionally, they will support various risk management activities, including cybersecurity and insurance management.

Grants Management
  • Oversee the processing of outgoing grants to Longview's recipients
  • Ensure all grants comply with our Grantmaking Policy and legal standards
  • Facilitate comprehensive reporting from grantees
  • Manage incoming grants to Longview
  • Enhance and maintain grants tracking systems
Compliance
  • Collaborate with our accountant to prepare and review UK financial statements
  • Fulfill statutory reporting obligations for our UK entity
  • Ensure compliance requirements are met by our UK entity's board
  • Implement compliance policies across the organization
Risk Management
  • Lead the development and execution of our cybersecurity strategy
  • Oversee the review and management of our insurance coverage
  • Support due diligence processes for external stakeholders
  • Contribute to our overall risk management framework
Candidate Profile

Essential Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years in nonprofit operations roles
  • Experience in nonprofit legal compliance and/or grants management
Essential Skills and Attributes
  • Knowledge of the UK nonprofit legal and regulatory landscape
  • Familiarity with grants management processes within a charity or foundation, preferably in the UK
  • Commitment to continuous improvement: ability to assess and enhance systems for greater efficiency
  • Strong communication skills: capable of engaging clearly and professionally with both internal and high-stakes external stakeholders
  • Exceptional attention to detail: adept at executing high-stakes tasks accurately
Desirable Skills and Attributes
  • Understanding of the US nonprofit legal and regulatory framework
  • Familiarity with multi-entity organizational structures
  • Knowledge of Longview's focus areas
  • Proficient in spreadsheet applications, particularly Google Sheets and/or Airtable
Compensation and Benefits
  • This is a full-time position based in our East London office.
  • Salary is £60,000 per annum, based on experience and qualifications.
