Grants play a crucial role in Longview's mission to mitigate risks associated with global challenges through impactful philanthropy. We allocate funds to leading experts and organizations that are advancing solutions in critical areas. The Grants & Compliance Manager will oversee the processing of substantial grant funds annually, ensuring that recipients have the necessary resources to continue their significant contributions.
Grants Management Responsibilities
- Administer outgoing grants to Longview's beneficiaries
- Verify that all grants align with our Grantmaking Policy and fulfill legal obligations
- Ensure comprehensive reporting from grantees
- Facilitate the receipt of incoming grants to Longview
- Enhance and maintain grants tracking systems
Compliance Duties
- Collaborate with our accountant to prepare and assess our UK financial statements
- Meet UK statutory reporting obligations for our entity
- Ensure compliance requirements are met by our UK entity's board
- Implement compliance policies throughout the organization
Risk Management Functions
- Lead the development and execution of our cybersecurity strategy
- Oversee the review and management of our insurance policies
- Assist in conducting due diligence on external partners
- Support the overall risk management framework
Qualifications of the Ideal Candidate
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in nonprofit operational roles
- Experience in nonprofit legal compliance and/or grants management
- Understanding of the UK nonprofit legal and regulatory landscape
- Familiarity with grants management processes within a charity or foundation, preferably in the UK
- Proactive approach to systems enhancement: ability to evaluate and refine systems for improved efficiency
- Exceptional communication skills: capable of engaging clearly and professionally with both internal and high-stakes external stakeholders
- Meticulous attention to detail: adept at executing high-stakes tasks (e.g., multi-million dollar transfers) accurately
Compensation, Benefits, and Work Environment
- This is a full-time position based in our East London office.
- We may offer sponsorship for UK work visas for this role.
- Annual salary of £60,000, commensurate with experience and skills.
- Benefits include:
