Grants & Compliance Manager

As a vital member of the Operations team, you will oversee the management of both outgoing and incoming grants, ensuring that our organization adheres to all legal and regulatory standards while supporting essential risk management initiatives, including cybersecurity. This position is based in London.

Grants play a crucial role in Longview's mission to mitigate risks associated with global challenges, such as artificial intelligence and nuclear threats, through impactful philanthropy. You will be responsible for processing substantial grant funds annually, ensuring that our grantees are equipped with the necessary resources to advance their critical work.

Grants Management Responsibilities

  • Administer outgoing grants to Longview's recipients
  • Verify that all grants align with our Grantmaking Policy and fulfill legal obligations
  • Ensure comprehensive reporting from grantees
  • Facilitate the receipt of incoming grants to Longview
  • Enhance and maintain grants tracking systems

Compliance Duties

  • Collaborate with our accountant to prepare and review financial statements for the UK
  • Meet statutory reporting obligations for our UK entity
  • Ensure compliance requirements are met by our UK entity's board
  • Implement compliance policies throughout the organization

Risk Management Functions

  • Lead the development and execution of our cybersecurity strategy
  • Oversee the review and management of our insurance policies
  • Assist in conducting due diligence on external partners
  • Support the overall risk management framework

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in nonprofit operations
  • Background in nonprofit legal compliance and/or grants management
  • Understanding of the UK nonprofit legal and regulatory landscape
  • Experience with grants management in a charity or foundation setting, preferably in the UK
  • Proactive in identifying and implementing systems improvements to enhance operational efficiency
  • Exceptional communication skills for engaging with both internal and high-stakes external stakeholders
  • Meticulous attention to detail, particularly in executing high-value transactions

Compensation, Benefits, and Work Environment

  • This is a full-time position based in our East London office.
  • Salary is competitive at £60,000 per annum, based on experience and qualifications.
