Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Functional Skills Tutor to join our team. As a Functional Skills Tutor, you will be responsible for delivering Maths and English Functional Skills training to a caseload of apprentices. You will work closely with the Skills Development Team Leader to ensure that learners achieve their Functional Skills qualifications in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver one-to-one and group sessions to learners, using a range of teaching methods to engage and motivate them.
- Manage a caseload of learners, ensuring that they receive regular support and guidance to help them achieve their Functional Skills qualifications.
- Use e-learning platforms to deliver modules and levels assigned to learners, and continually review progress against the specification of each Functional skill.
- Ensure that learner support evidence is recorded accurately and in accordance with audit requirements.
- Communicate regularly with Regional Trainers and Training Managers to ensure that progress is communicated and opportunities to contextualize the learning are explored.
Person Specification:
- Minimum of two years' delivery experience.
- Minimum of two years' experience delivering numeracy and literacy qualifications.
- Understanding of the Work-Based Learning environment.
- Recognised teaching/training qualification at Level 3.
- Qualified to Level 3 Certificate in Adult Literacy and/or Numeracy or Functional Skills at Level 2.
Requirements:
- Ability to travel to various locations across the Darlington and Durham area.
- Own vehicle and valid driver's license.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
