About the Role

Our client is a leading education provider, with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality training programs. They are Ofsted grade 2 and have a large team of experienced trainers and assessors.

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Functional Skills Trainer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering Maths and English Functional Skills training to a caseload of apprentices with additional learning needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver one-to-one and group training sessions to apprentices, using a range of teaching methods and resources.
  • Manage a caseload of learners, ensuring they achieve their Functional Skills qualifications on time.
  • Use e-learning platforms to deliver training modules and track learner progress.
  • Record learner support evidence and maintain accurate records.
  • Communicate with regional trainers and training managers to ensure progress and identify opportunities for contextualized learning.

Person Specification

  • Minimum of two years' delivery experience, with a focus on numeracy and literacy qualifications.
  • Understanding of the Work-Based Learning environment.
  • Recognized teaching/training qualification at Level 3.
  • Qualified to Level 3 Certificate in Adult Literacy and/or Numeracy or Functional Skills at Level 2.

Requirements

  • Ability to travel to various locations across the Darlington & Durham area, with some face-to-face visits.
  • Own vehicle and valid driver's license.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
