Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN teaching assistant to join our team at a Primary School in the Durham area. As a key member of our staffing team, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to students with SEND, promoting their social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement curriculum plans, ensuring a tailored approach to meet the needs of each student.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
  • Contribute to the development of a positive and inclusive school culture, promoting the well-being and success of all students.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with students with SEND, preferably in a Primary School setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach.
  • Good English and Maths skills, with a GCSE A-C or equivalent qualification.
  • Autism awareness training and Team Teach certification (desirable).
