Job Title: Functional Skills Tutor

About the Role:

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Functional Skills Tutor to join our team. As a Functional Skills Tutor, you will be responsible for delivering Maths and English Functional Skills training to a caseload of apprentices. You will work closely with the Skills Development Team Leader to ensure that learners achieve their Functional Skills qualifications in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver one-to-one and group sessions to learners, using a range of teaching methods to engage and motivate them.
  • Manage a caseload of learners, ensuring that they receive regular support and guidance to help them achieve their Functional Skills qualifications.
  • Use e-learning platforms to deliver modules and levels assigned to learners, and continually review progress against the specification of each Functional skill.
  • Ensure that learner support evidence is recorded onto Etrack, adhering to audit requirements.
  • Communicate with Regional Trainers and Training Managers to ensure that progress is communicated and opportunities to contextualize the learning are explored with the learner.

Person Specification:

  • Has a minimum of two years' delivery experience.
  • Has a minimum of two years' experience delivering numeracy and literacy qualifications.
  • Has a minimum of two years' experience working in a Work-Based Learning environment.
  • Holds a recognized teaching/training qualification at Level 3.
  • Qualified to Level 3 Certificate in Adult Literacy and/or Numeracy or Functional Skills at Level 2.

Requirements:

  • Ability to deliver training to groups in addition to one-to-one sessions.
  • Ability to analyze and identify skills gaps from system-generated data.
  • Ability to ensure Health, Safety, Equality, Diversity, and Welfare policies and procedures are followed at all times.
