Autism Support Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Autism Support Specialist to join our team at The Education Network Newcastle. As a key member of our team, you will provide individualized support to children with severe autism and profound learning difficulties, helping them to thrive in a safe and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide one-on-one and group support to children with learning difficulties and severe autism.
- Assist with classroom activities and adapt learning materials to meet individual needs.
- Foster a positive, nurturing, and safe learning environment.
- Proactively engage with students to build trust and encourage their independence.
- Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to ensure each child's needs are fully met.
- A proactive, caring, and nurturing personality.
- Patience and a strong understanding of the challenges faced by children with severe autism and profound learning difficulties.
- Previous experience in a special needs setting is desirable but not essential—what matters most is your ability to connect with the children and help them succeed.
