Position Overview

The role of Mortuary Administrator is essential in delivering comprehensive administrative and clerical assistance within the Mortuary and Bereavement office. Key responsibilities include:

  • Handling general inquiries through various communication channels, including phone, email, and face-to-face interactions.
  • Performing data entry tasks using the Mortuary information system and the Hospital information system.
  • Managing Post Mortem requests and coordinating with Pathologists and Anatomical Pathology Technicians (APTs) for scheduling examinations.
  • Collaborating with APTs and Bereavement staff to facilitate viewings of the deceased.
  • Engaging with external entities such as law enforcement, Coroners, and funeral service providers.
  • Assisting with the admission and release processes of deceased patients during periods of staff shortages.
  • Supporting the completion of audits and necessary legal documentation.

Role Details

This position offers a unique opportunity to work within the Mortuary Department, providing vital support to the Anatomical Pathology Technicians and the Bereavement/Tissue Donation Team. The role may occasionally involve limited interactions with patients.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday
