About the Role

The Assertive Outreach Worker will be responsible for engaging with rough sleepers and supporting them in accessing health, welfare, and accommodation services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with rough sleepers at their location, offering support and guidance
  • Help clients access benefits and welfare services, ensuring they receive the necessary assistance
  • Maintain a small caseload of rough sleepers needing assistance to secure temporary or private accommodation
  • Work alongside Homelessness & Housing Advice Officers and Support Workers to provide comprehensive support for clients
  • Develop and manage individual support plans, ensuring accurate documentation and records are maintained
  • Liaise with partner agencies to provide support for clients

Requirements

  • At least 2 years' experience working with clients facing mental health, substance misuse, or debt issues
  • In-depth understanding of homelessness issues and welfare benefits
  • Proven ability to work with multiple agencies to achieve positive outcomes for clients
  • Familiarity with local services and demographics
  • Strong organisational and communication skills, managing varied caseloads effectively

Contract Details

  • 35 Hours Per Week
  • 6 Month Contract
  • Pay range: £16.88 to £17.88 per hour LTD company rate, PAYE equivalent: £14.39 to £15.24 per hour, inclusive of holiday
