Looking for an experienced professional to join a District Council's Housing Options team as an Assertive Outreach Worker, supporting rough sleepers in the New Forest area.
THE ROLE
The key responsibility of the Assertive Outreach Worker is to engage with rough sleepers and support them in accessing health, welfare, and accommodation services.
Engage with rough sleepers at their location, offering support
Help clients access benefits and welfare services
Maintain a small caseload of rough sleepers needing assistance to secure temporary or private accommodation
Work alongside Homelessness & Housing Advice Officers and Support Workers
Develop and manage individual support plans
Ensure accurate documentation and records are maintained
Liaise with partner agencies to provide comprehensive support for clients
THE CANDIDATE
The successful candidate will have previous experience in a similar role, working with rough sleepers or vulnerable individuals.
At least 2 years' experience working with clients facing mental health, substance misuse, or debt issues
In-depth understanding of homelessness issues and welfare benefits
Proven ability to work with multiple agencies to achieve positive outcomes for clients
Familiarity with New Forest services and local demographics
Strong organisational and communication skills, managing varied caseloads effectively
THE CONTRACT
35 Hours Per Week
6 Month Contract
The pay range for the role is £16.88 to £17.88 per hour LTD company rate. The PAYE equivalent is £14.39 to £15.24 per hour, inclusive of holiday.
