Job Description

Berry Recruitment is seeking a skilled professional to fill the role of Assertive Outreach Worker on a 6-month contract. This position will be based at a local authority office and will involve working with a caseload of individuals experiencing homelessness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with individuals experiencing homelessness in their locations of residence
  • Support them in accessing benefits, welfare services, and health care
  • Collaborate with Homelessness and Housing Advice Officers and other support workers to provide comprehensive support
  • Develop and implement individualized support plans to help clients achieve their goals
  • Accurately record and update support plans, meeting notes, and reports

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with individuals with mental health issues, substance misuse, and debt issues
  • Understanding of the challenges faced by vulnerable individuals with health and welfare needs, particularly those experiencing homelessness
  • Knowledge of the welfare benefit system and the benefits available to clients
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Administration and data entry experience

Working Conditions:

This role requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The successful candidate will be required to travel to different locations to engage with clients and provide support. A valid Enhanced DBS check is required for this position.
