About the Role:

We are seeking a highly organized and compassionate Volunteer Coordinator to join our team at Blind Veterans UK. As a Volunteer Coordinator, you will play a vital role in overseeing the recruitment, training, and support of volunteers across Lancashire, Cumbria, and the Isle of Man.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, train, and support volunteers to deliver impactful services to our members in the community.
  • Work closely with the community team and Volunteer Support Lead to develop meaningful volunteer opportunities and ensure a consistent approach to volunteering.
  • Organize recruitment programs and match volunteer skills to member needs.
  • Deliver induction and training to volunteers.
  • Coordinate volunteers to conduct home visits, activity support, fundraising, and awareness-raising.
  • Maintain accurate records and monitor volunteer activities.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding and risk management procedures.
  • Collaborate with local agencies and partners to enhance support for members.

About You:

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • Experience of recruiting, training, and supporting volunteers.
  • Experience in supporting a team of volunteers.
  • Experience of providing advice and guidance to colleagues.
  • Experience of cross-departmental working.
  • Experience of building external networks and relationships.
  • Good interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • A qualification in volunteer or people management, or equivalent relevant vocational experience.
