Team Overview

The Identity Governance Specialist is tasked with overseeing the daily functions of the identity management service, ensuring that all users, including staff, contractors, partners, and customers, are accurately authenticated across various corporate and partner networks. This position combines service management with personnel leadership, requiring specific expertise in Identity and Access Management from the perspective of user identity management and verification. The role is accountable for managing account identity assignments, modifications, and removals as part of an employee's career progression within Computacenter. Additionally, it is crucial to ensure that the necessary checks are performed during user authentication to maintain a secure environment while minimizing the impact on user experience.

This role presents an excellent opportunity within one of the UK's premier IT service providers, responsible for delivering essential services to manage over 20,000 users globally.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in operational identity management, demonstrating a strong track record in service delivery and team leadership.

A solid understanding of identity management principles is essential, alongside the ability to enhance user experience within the framework of operational security. This position will challenge the successful candidate to balance the need for transparent and user-friendly access with acceptable security and compliance levels, ensuring the company minimizes its vulnerability footprint.

The GIS Workplace Identity Governance Specialist will report directly to the Head of Identity and Access Management, playing a vital role in delivering a secure and reliable working environment for Computacenter's extensive user base.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the operational service delivery for Identity Lifecycle management, encompassing internal, external, guest, and partner accounts. Oversee identity security controls, including Conditional Access Policies, Multi-Factor Authentication, Passwordless, and Biometric Authentication technologies. Collaborate with Access Management teams to ensure a comprehensive IAM service. Provide expertise on identity framework integration, including Enterprise Application registration in EntraID for SSO and automated provisioning. Assist in designing enterprise solutions to address complex challenges. Integrate onboarding solutions into existing IAM frameworks and plans. Define work packages for team delivery. Support compliance with regulatory obligations, including ISO 27001 audits, Cyber Essentials Plus (CE+) compliance, and customer audits. Manage team performance through regular one-on-ones and annual reviews, overseeing workload and performance management. Maintain stakeholder engagement by regularly discussing team performance and workloads with your line manager. Generate and present reports to communicate ideas, risks, opportunities, and best practices. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to foster collaboration and support. Ensure accountability for the maintenance of Identity Provider (IdP) systems and supporting applications. Manage changes and maintenance of IdPs and associated systems. Establish a robust BCP/DR solution for IdPs.

Required Qualifications

Relevant experience in IT Identity Management. Proven team leadership experience. Technical certifications in Microsoft technologies (AZ500, SC300, etc.). Demonstrated experience in a challenging commercial environment. Strong knowledge of relevant functional systems (EntraID, Active Directory). Experience in influencing multi-tier management. Proven ability to develop best practice policies and procedures. Highly motivated in self-learning and maintaining industry best practices. Experience in people management and training. Ability to manage a results-oriented operation. Hold SC Clearance or be eligible to obtain it.

Desirable Qualifications

Fully qualified in relevant professional certifications (CISM, CISSP, etc.). Knowledge of information assurance standards and frameworks, including CIS, NIST, ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials/Essentials Plus, GDPR. Strong presentation and moderation skills; professional demeanor with clear communication. Excellent organizational and time management abilities. Proficient user of ServiceNow. Membership in a professional body (CIISec, BCS, etc.). Hold DV Clearance or be eligible to obtain it.
