JOB SUMMARY

W Hotels is on the lookout for a talented individual to fill the role of Sales Manager. This position is responsible for proactively seeking out, managing sales opportunities, and achieving revenue and room night targets for W London, with a specific focus on local corporate and luxury consortia segments. The role is designed to drive revenue for both segments and involves a blend of account management and new business development.

The Sales Manager will also be tasked with cultivating and sustaining strong relationships with clients to foster loyalty and repeat business. A proactive approach is essential to generate new revenue streams and to establish a strategic action plan aimed at meeting budgetary objectives.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

  • A minimum of a 2-year degree from an accredited institution in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or a related field; along with at least 3 years of experience in sales and marketing or a related professional area.
  • Prior experience in a similar capacity within the Hospitality Industry is advantageous.
  • Proficient command of English, with excellent verbal communication skills and a proven track record in customer service.
  • In-depth knowledge of the London market.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • A collaborative team player with a flexible and positive demeanor, who is diligent and consistent.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and possesses strong attention to detail.
  • Values integrity and reliability.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Developing & Executing Sales Strategies

  • Collaborates with the sales leader to ensure a clear understanding of the sales strategy and its effective implementation for the designated segment.
  • Assists in creating, implementing, and maintaining an aggressive solicitation program aimed at boosting business.
  • Works with the management team to develop and execute a sales plan that addresses revenue, customer engagement, and market dynamics for the segment.
  • Contributes to the creation and execution of promotional initiatives, both internally and externally.

Maximizing Revenue

  • Provides dynamic leadership to ensure maximum revenue potential by setting a personal example with booking goals.
  • Recommends booking targets for sales team members.

Managing Sales Activities

  • Approves space releases for catering to optimize revenue in the absence of a Business Evaluation Manager.
  • Participates in sales calls with team members to secure new business and finalize deals.
  • Handles operational aspects of business booked, including generating proposals, drafting contracts, and managing customer correspondence.

Analyzing & Reporting on Sales and Financial Data

  • Evaluates market data using sales systems and formulates strategies to meet the property's financial goals.
  • Assists Revenue Management in completing accurate projections.
  • Reviews sales and catering guest satisfaction metrics to identify areas for enhancement.

Ensuring Exceptional Customer Service

  • Demonstrates leadership in guest hospitality, exemplifying customer service and setting a positive standard for guest relations.
  • Engages with guests to gather feedback on product quality and service levels.
  • Empowers team members to deliver outstanding customer service.
  • Observes employee service behaviors and provides constructive feedback for improvement.
  • Incorporates guest satisfaction into departmental meetings with a focus on continuous enhancement.
  • Ensures a customer recognition program is active throughout the Sales department.
  • Supports the company's Customer Service Standards and the property's Brand Standards.

Building Successful Relationships

  • Develops and nurtures relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external.
  • Collaborates with off-property sales channels to ensure cohesive sales efforts.
  • Maintains relationships with GSO Managers and clients through events and trade shows.
