Housing Allocations Specialist
Service Care Solutions is currently seeking a committed Housing Allocations Specialist to enhance our team. This position is a full-time opportunity, offering a structured workweek with potential for flexible hours.

Position Overview:
The Housing Allocations Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting the Housing Allocations Team within the housing needs and advisory sector.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administering social housing allocations in accordance with established policies.
  • Evaluating housing applications and assessing future housing requirements.
  • Overseeing administrative tasks related to the allocations framework.
  • Updating and managing agreements with housing partners.
  • Coordinating emergency housing solutions for individuals experiencing homelessness.
  • Assisting in optimizing rental income through housing benefit applications.
  • Managing waiting lists for temporary housing and transition needs.
  • Monitoring accommodation refusals and providing actionable recommendations.
  • Supporting the Private Sector Housing Allocations Officer with administrative duties.
  • Delivering essential administrative support, including maintaining client records, processing financial documents, and updating databases and spreadsheets.

Candidate Profile:
We are in search of an individual with prior experience in a comparable position.

The ideal candidate will possess:
  • Knowledge and relevant experience in managing social housing allocations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • The ability to negotiate, interpret policies, and effectively communicate implications.
  • General office experience, particularly in a dynamic frontline service environment.
  • A customer-centric approach, demonstrating exceptional standards of service.
  • Proficiency in IT, particularly with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong numeracy and literacy capabilities.
  • A proactive and motivated attitude, with the ability to work accurately under pressure.
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills, with experience in frontline services.
  • Creative problem-solving abilities, with a willingness to propose innovative solutions.
