Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Accommodation and Housing Officer to join our team at Service Care Solutions Ltd. This is a full-time role that involves supporting the Accommodation and Lettings Team within the housing needs and advice section.
Key Responsibilities:
- Allocating social housing in line with allocation policies and procedures.
- Verifying housing applications and understanding future housing demands to ensure effective resource allocation.
- Managing administrative functions for the allocations scheme, including maintaining accurate records and updating systems.
- Updating and maintaining nomination agreements with housing partners to ensure seamless collaboration.
- Arranging emergency housing for homeless households and providing vital support during times of crisis.
- Assisting in maximizing rental income through housing benefit applications and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
- Managing waiting lists for temporary accommodation and move-on requirements to ensure efficient use of resources.
- Monitoring accommodation refusals and making recommendations to improve the allocation process.
- Providing administrative support to the Accommodation and Lettings Officer (private sector) and contributing to the overall success of the team.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a similar role, with knowledge and relevant experience in allocating social housing via a housing scheme.
- Confident communication skills, with the ability to negotiate, interpret policy, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
- General office experience and understanding of working within a busy frontline service.
- Customer-focused approach, with high standards of customer service and a commitment to equal opportunities.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications, and good numeracy and literacy skills.
- Proactive, motivated, and able to work accurately under pressure, with good interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Ability to think creatively and suggest innovative solutions to improve processes and services.
Working Arrangements:
- 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
- 3 months, with potential to become permanent.
