Role Overview:

The Housing and Accommodation Coordinator will play a vital role in the accommodation and lettings division within the housing needs and advisory department. The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative and IT capabilities, with a keen eye for detail. A commitment to outstanding customer service and a proactive approach to problem-solving are essential. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are crucial for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Accommodation and Lettings Team in managing temporary housing solutions for individuals experiencing homelessness.
  • Allocate social housing in line with established policies and verify housing applications while assessing future housing demands.
  • Handle administrative tasks related to the allocations scheme, ensuring compliance with nomination agreements with housing partners.
  • Facilitate emergency housing arrangements for homeless families within various temporary accommodation options.
  • Optimize resource utilization and ensure all necessary documentation, including housing benefit applications, is completed to maximize rental income.
  • Manage the waiting list for temporary housing and oversee the transition requirements for individuals moving on from accommodation.
  • Monitor refusals of housing offers and provide recommendations for adjustments to the housing list.
