As part of our commitment to enhancing work-life balance, NHS Scotland is transitioning to a reduced full-time working week of 37 hours, effective from April 2024. This adjustment will also apply to part-time staff on a pro-rata basis. Please note that some service areas may require temporary adjustments to working hours until they can fully implement the new schedule.

Please be aware that this role does not qualify for a Skilled Worker visa or a Health and Care Worker visa, and NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is unable to provide a Certificate of Sponsorship.

The working hours for this role are Monday to Friday.

We invite applications for the role of Audio Typist within the General Surgery department.

The successful candidate will deliver a thorough typing service to Orthopaedic Consultants, Nurse Specialists, Extended Scope Practitioners, and junior staff within the dynamic Trauma & Orthopaedic Department. Additionally, support for the secretarial team may be required, along with occasional assistance in other administrative functions. This role demands a high level of accuracy and the ability to work independently while maintaining confidentiality. You will be responsible for managing your own workload to meet typing turnaround targets.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Advanced keyboard skills and experience with audio typing systems.
  • Proven proficiency in English.
  • Ability to work autonomously and demonstrate initiative.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Effective communication skills with a diverse range of professionals.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with medical terminology is advantageous.
  • Understanding of Trust Policies and Procedures.
  • Knowledge of various patient administration systems.
