In line with NHS Scotland's commitment to improving work-life balance, the full-time working week will transition from 37.5 to 37 hours starting from April 2024, with no alterations to pay. This adjustment will also apply proportionately to part-time employees. It is important to note that while this change is forthcoming, certain service areas may require temporary adherence to the previous working hours until new rosters are established. This role does not qualify for a Skilled Worker visa or a Health and Care Worker visa, as NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is unable to provide a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS).

The typical shift pattern for this role is Monday through Friday.

We invite applications for the position of Audio Typist within the General Surgery Vascular team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a comprehensive typing service to Orthopaedic Consultants, Nurse Specialists, Extended Scope Practitioners, and junior staff within the dynamic Trauma & Orthopaedic Department. Additionally, support for the secretarial team may be required, along with occasional assistance in other administrative roles within the service. This position demands a high level of accuracy and the ability to work independently while maintaining confidentiality. You will manage your own workload to ensure timely completion of typing tasks.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Advanced keyboard skills and experience with audio typing systems.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in English.
  • Ability to work autonomously and exercise initiative.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Effective communication abilities with a diverse range of professionals.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with medical terminology is advantageous.
  • Understanding of Trust Policies and Procedures.
  • Knowledge of various patient administration systems.
