We provide essential acute hospital, primary, community, and mental health services to a population exceeding 1.15 million, expanding to 2.2 million when considering our regional and national services.

We are currently offering two positions:

  • 1 x 30-hour role spread over 5 days from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM
  • 1 x 14-hour role spread over 2 days from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM

Please be aware that the salary will be calculated on a pro-rata basis for part-time hours.

We invite applications for the position of Audio Typist within the Trauma & Orthopaedic Department.

The role of an audio typist is crucial in delivering a comprehensive typing service to Orthopaedic Consultants, Nurse Specialists, Extended Scope Practitioners, and junior staff within our busy department. Additionally, support for the secretarial team may be required. This position demands a high level of accuracy and the ability to work independently while maintaining confidentiality. You will be responsible for managing your own workload to meet typing turnaround targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide efficient typing services for medical professionals
  • Utilize advanced keyboard skills and audio typing systems
  • Maintain effective communication with a variety of healthcare professionals
  • Organize and prioritize tasks effectively

Essential Qualifications:

  • Advanced keyboard skills and experience with audio typing
  • Proven proficiency in English
  • Ability to work autonomously and exercise initiative
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Effective communication abilities

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with medical terminology
  • Understanding of Trust Policies and Procedures
  • Knowledge of various patient administration systems
