Work Schedule: Day shifts with a defined pattern

This role presents an exciting opportunity to contribute to a company dedicated to transforming lives and fostering stronger communities.

As a Senior Operations Manager, you will assist the Contract Manager in overseeing daily site operations. Your responsibilities will include managing a team of Detention Custody Managers and ensuring the care and welfare of detained individuals is prioritized at all times. Experience working with high-risk or vulnerable populations is advantageous, as is the ability to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders to encourage positive behavior and alleviate anxieties among service users.

  • You will spearhead and oversee a specific function (e.g., Admissions and Discharge), holding accountability for its success.
  • Ensuring a respectful and welcoming environment for all individuals on-site is crucial. You will communicate and implement on-site procedures and policies effectively and in a timely manner, enabling detained persons to access essential support services, including healthcare and education.
  • Building strong, supportive relationships with your team and detained individuals is essential. You will provide governance, guidance, and understanding, ensuring that staff records, including time sheets and training documentation, are maintained and available for review.
  • As a key contact for various on-site partners, you will ensure the seamless operation of the site. Collaborating with local stakeholders to enhance services and facilitating productive relationships with the community will be vital.
  • You will oversee a critical area of operations and manage the company budget, taking charge of a specific area of delivery or compliance as directed by the Contract Manager. Continuous improvement of policies and processes within your area of responsibility will be a priority, ensuring consistency in documentation and application of procedures.
  • Health, safety, and environmental matters will fall under your purview, including record-keeping. You will maintain accurate records of security patrols, visitor logs, and incident reports, ensuring proper reporting lines are adhered to.
  • In the event of any contingency plans being activated, you will be responsible for appropriate escalation procedures.

Required Experience for Senior Operations Manager:

  • Proven experience in leading operational teams in accordance with contract specifications, establishing clear expectations, key performance indicators, and objectives for all site employees.
  • A high level of human empathy, along with a caring and responsible attitude, is essential for supporting our service user group.
  • Strong leadership, delegation, communication, influencing, and interpersonal skills are necessary, with a history of promoting equality and anti-discriminatory practices in service provision.
  • Experience working with high-risk or vulnerable individuals is beneficial, along with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • A track record of delivering high-performing, outcome-focused services in a target-driven outsourced contract environment is required.
  • You should be action-oriented, target-driven, and capable of inspiring and motivating teams.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing teams to provide a 24/7 service is essential.
