Position Overview

We are seeking a full-time Senior Consultant in Adult Psychiatric Care to join our dedicated team at Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust. This role involves working within a dynamic inpatient environment, providing essential psychiatric services to individuals experiencing acute mental health challenges.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Deliver expert psychiatric assessments and treatment plans for patients in a 16-bed mixed-gender ward.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including higher specialty trainees, general practitioners, and allied health professionals, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Lead clinical discussions and care planning processes, ensuring adherence to best practices and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing service delivery and patient outcomes.
  • Provide clinical leadership and mentorship to junior staff, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning.

Qualifications and Skills

Applicants must possess:

  • A primary medical degree and full GMC registration.
  • Inclusion on the Specialist Register or evidence of expected CCT within six months.
  • Section 12 MHA approval and AC status.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with a proven ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Desirable Attributes

Additional qualifications such as MRCPsych or higher degrees, along with management training, are advantageous. Experience in service development and evidence-based practice will be considered a plus.
