Clinical Evaluation and Diagnosis
  1. Perform thorough psychiatric evaluations of adults and seniors presenting with various mental health issues.
  2. Employ standardized diagnostic instruments and clinical interviews to establish diagnoses.
  3. Create and execute personalized treatment strategies based on clinical assessments and patient objectives.
Therapeutic Approaches
  1. Administer evidence-based psychiatric interventions, including medication management, psychotherapy, and psychosocial support.
  2. Track and modify treatment strategies based on patient progress and therapeutic response.
  3. Handle complex cases involving co-occurring conditions, treatment-resistant disorders, and psychosocial influences.
Collaborative Practice
  1. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including psychologists, nurses, social workers, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
  2. Engage in regular team discussions, case reviews, and care planning meetings.
  3. Offer expert guidance and support to team members regarding psychiatric care and management.
Leadership and Mentorship

  1. Connect with patients and their families to offer education, support, and guidance on mental health conditions and treatment alternatives.
  2. Cultivate a therapeutic rapport with patients, ensuring their involvement in care decisions.
  3. Address concerns and inquiries from patients and their families with compassion and professionalism.
Documentation and Compliance
  1. Maintain precise and current patient records, including assessment results, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
  2. Ensure adherence to legal, ethical, and organizational standards for documentation.
  3. Prepare comprehensive reports and updates for the multidisciplinary team and other relevant stakeholders.
Quality Assurance and Professional Growth
  1. Engage in quality assurance initiatives and clinical audits to improve service delivery and patient outcomes.
  2. Stay informed about advancements in psychiatry and mental health through ongoing professional development activities.
  3. Participate in reflective practice and clinical supervision to uphold high standards of care.
Required Qualifications and Experience
  1. Must be AC Approved.
  2. Medical degree and completion of specialist training in psychiatry.
  3. Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych) or equivalent.
  4. Minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience in a relevant clinical environment.
  5. Strong clinical reasoning, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  7. Capability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Previous experience in a community mental health context.
  2. Additional qualifications or certifications in geriatric psychiatry, psychotherapy, or related fields.
  3. Experience in conducting and participating in clinical research and quality improvement projects.
