About the Role

As an integral part of our hospitality team, the Conference & Banqueting Assistant Manager plays a pivotal role in delivering exceptional experiences for our guests and clients. This position requires a blend of leadership, operational expertise, and a passion for service excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Report directly to the Senior C&B Manager while collaborating closely with the Retail Manager.
  • Lead and manage a dynamic team of event staff, ensuring effective communication and engagement through daily briefings.
  • Maintain a consistent 5-star service standard across all events.
  • Develop and manage staff rotas in alignment with budgetary constraints and operational needs.
  • Train and mentor team members, focusing on our unique guest experience program.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance customer satisfaction and drive revenue growth.
  • Oversee the complete event service process, from preparation to execution.
  • Engage with clients for weddings and events, facilitating food tastings and planning sessions.
  • Manage booking administration with precision, ensuring all client details are accurately recorded.
  • Explore upselling opportunities to maximize event profitability.
  • Ensure the highest standards of service are maintained in a fast-paced environment, particularly for weddings, corporate events, and meetings.
  • Coordinate the ordering of necessary supplies, including linens and beverages.
  • Supervise the delivery of all event bookings, ensuring client requirements are fully understood and met.

  • Proven operational experience in a high-profile venue with a commitment to quality.
  • Ability to think proactively and reactively, applying a business-oriented mindset to various scenarios.
  • Experience in managing multiple concurrent events.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Proficient in computer applications relevant to event management.
  • Excellent communication skills, both with team members and clients.
  • Able to thrive under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.
  • Ensure all event documentation is thorough and accurate, including schedules and briefing materials.
  • Provide coaching and leadership to your team, fostering a clear understanding of roles and responsibilities.
  • Exhibit a hands-on management style that promotes best practices in event execution.
  • Demonstrated ability in guest profiling and recognition.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, both in customer service and team collaboration.
  • Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations.
  • Possess reliable transportation due to the nature of the role.
