Senior Financial Specialist

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 per annum

Location: Inverness & Highlands

Nicholas Hendry Ltd is collaborating with a distinguished accounting firm located in the Inverness & Highlands region. We are seeking a seasoned Financial Specialist with a robust background in client engagement to deliver precise statutory financial reports derived from client data. This role involves managing a diverse portfolio of small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), ensuring compliance with all deadlines, and providing guidance and mentorship to a team of junior accountants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of statutory financial statements for limited companies, sole proprietorships, and partnerships.
  • Compilation of monthly and quarterly management accounts.
  • Drafting of personal and corporate tax calculations.
  • Execution of journal entries, accruals, and prepayments.
  • Preparation of VAT submissions.
  • Contributing as a key member of the senior management team and facilitating the development and training of accounting trainees.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in an accounting firm - mandatory
  • Proven experience in team leadership within an accounting environment.
  • Strong proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, and Sage.
  • Adept at meeting strict deadlines.
  • Outstanding communication abilities.
