Our client, a prominent player in the healthcare sector, is seeking a skilled Capital Accountant to enhance their finance team. This pivotal role will involve the coordination, oversight, and generation of financial data for the Group's capital expenditure operations.

As the organization continues to expand its portfolio of care facilities and hospitals throughout the UK, this position is crucial in ensuring the ongoing financial success of over 260 care homes nationwide.

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

  • Qualified accountant (CA/ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or equivalent
  • Experience in a multi-site organization is preferred
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, with excellent communication skills
  • Proficient in internal systems and Microsoft Office

Key Responsibilities:

  • Management of the capital expenditure approval system and the Capital Team
  • Ensuring robust financial controls and procedures are maintained for capital invoice payments
  • Maintenance and updates to the Group Fixed Asset Registers, including disposals and capitalizations
  • Preparation of Fixed Asset Grids
  • Financial oversight of major capital projects, including new developments
  • Supervision of the preparation of Group capital budgets
  • Weekly reporting of capital budget updates to operational teams
  • Monthly preparation of Capital & Development Reports
  • Accounting for annual property revaluations
  • Preparation of fixed asset disclosures for statutory accounts
  • Coordination of information for CapEx Committee meetings
  • Preparation of information for external audit and tax teams
  • Completion of Capital Expenditure National Statistics Returns
