Position: Lead Pharmacist for Substance Misuse Services

Band: 8A: £56,992 - £61,522

Employment Type: Permanent, 37 hours per week (1.0 wte)

Role Overview: We are looking for a dedicated and passionate pharmacist to join our multidisciplinary team focused on substance misuse services. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in:

  • Developing and implementing evidence-based clinical practices and cost-effective prescribing.
  • Enhancing medicines management and service development across the Lothian substance misuse service.
  • Contributing to the formulation and assessment of medicines policies and guidelines.
  • Providing clinical and professional guidance to the multidisciplinary team at both local and national levels.

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will be a UK registered pharmacist with a relevant postgraduate clinical qualification and a proven track record in pharmaceutical care delivery within secondary or primary care settings. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential. This position requires PVG Scheme Membership/Disclosure Scotland check. An independent prescribing qualification or a willingness to pursue this qualification is preferred to facilitate direct clinical care delivery.
