Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver programmes of care for individuals with substance misuse issues, taking into account their physical, psychological, and social needs.
  • Conduct initial assessments, plan, implement, and review care plans, adjusting medication requirements as needed.
  • Provide a comprehensive discharge and follow-up service, managing a caseload of individuals with complex needs.
  • Work collaboratively with statutory and voluntary sector organizations, forging positive links within the local community.
  • Promote a harm reduction philosophy, working with individuals and agencies to reduce the risks associated with substance misuse.

Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse with a specialization in addictions or substance misuse.
  • Experience working in a prison environment or with individuals with complex needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
  • Ability to work autonomously, making decisions about care and support plans.
  • Knowledge of harm reduction principles and practices.
