Main Responsibilities

Planning and Preparation

  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans to support student learning
  • Create resources to enhance teaching activities
  • Contribute to out-of-school learning opportunities to promote student growth

Teaching and Learning Support

  • Deliver lessons in the absence of teachers, ensuring continuity of education
  • Provide constructive feedback to students and teachers to promote improvement
  • Motivate students and facilitate their learning to achieve academic success

Monitoring and Assessment

  • Assess student progress and adjust teaching methods to meet individual needs
  • Maintain accurate records of student achievement
  • Contribute to assessment programs and provide feedback to parents to promote student development

Mentoring, Supervision, and Development

  • Support and guide other teaching assistants to enhance their skills and knowledge
  • Contribute to the development of school policies and procedures
  • Participate in staff meetings and training events to stay up-to-date with best practices

Behavioural and Pastoral Support

  • Promote inclusive learning environments that cater to diverse student needs
  • Support students' pastoral needs to ensure their well-being and happiness
  • Maintain a safe and respectful learning environment

Additional Responsibilities

  • Assist with lunchtime duties to ensure a smooth and safe experience for students
  • Provide first aid when necessary to ensure student health and safety
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned to support the school's operations

Person Specification

Qualifications and Experience

  • GCSE English & Maths at grade C/4 or above
  • HLTA Qualification or equivalent
  • Experience in using nurture to support students and promote their well-being
  • Experience working in a school environment, with a focus on student support and education
  • Engagement with parents and families to promote student development and well-being
