Team Leader - WH Smith Retail Holdings Limited

In addition to leading a passionate and capable team, you will also have the opportunity to earn commission based on sales performance.

Airport Requirements:
  • Five years of continuous references are required to obtain an airport pass, which includes employment or educational references without gaps.
  • A Criminal Records Bureau Check will be conducted by WH Smith upon successful application.
  • Valid photographic identification, such as a passport or UK Driving Licence, is necessary.
Key Responsibilities of a Team Leader:
  • As a vital member of the in-store management team, your focus will be on empowering team members to excel while driving sales and maintaining high service standards.
  • Fostering a culture of learning, support, and recognition, you will identify opportunities for skill development, product knowledge enhancement, and self-awareness in a welcoming environment.
  • Collaborating with the management team to establish clear, measurable targets for team performance, ensuring regular reviews and feedback.
  • Instilling a sense of pride in the store, ensuring that both team and customer areas are maintained to high standards, while adhering to safety and legal regulations.

  • Recent experience in retail leadership or a similar role, preferably in a dynamic environment, with a solid understanding of key performance indicators.
  • A proactive approach to leadership, actively engaging with the team on the shop floor.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing team members, creating a supportive and productive work atmosphere.
  • Ability to energize and motivate team members and management to achieve exceptional service and performance.
  • Organized and proactive, thriving in a fast-paced retail setting.
