Barnardo's Leaving Care Service - Belfast

We are looking for a dedicated and skilled leader to oversee a team of professionals focused on empowering young individuals transitioning from care to independent living. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring high-quality service delivery, team growth, organizational change, and financial oversight. Reporting to an Assistant Director of Children's Services, this role includes direct management of a Team Manager.

Our Leaving Care Services are collaboratively funded by Health and Social Care Trusts and Supporting People (NIHE), providing essential accommodation, support, and guidance to young people aged 16 to 21 based on their unique needs.

Candidates should possess a strong interest in and experience with Service Improvement and Development initiatives.

Application Requirements:

Essential Qualifications:

A professional qualification in Social Work recognized by the NISCC, completion of AYE, and registration with the NISCC on part 1 of the register. Proven management experience, including leading a team in a residential environment. Demonstrated experience working with children and young people facing challenges related to leaving care. Experience in risk management, particularly in safeguarding matters. A valid driving license or the ability to meet the mobility requirements of the position. Strong understanding and management of financial resources and budgets.

Applicants must meet the necessary qualifications to maintain registration for Residential Children's Services in Northern Ireland.

Working Hours: 22.2 hours per week, with a requirement for flexible scheduling, including evenings and weekends.

Salary Range: £43,066 - £53,270 per annum (pro rata).

Additional Information: On-call allowance available.

The successful candidate will undergo an Enhanced Access NI check with Child and Adult Barred List verification.
