Childrens Residential Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Childrens Residential Support Worker to join our team at a BRAND NEW, STUNNING Children's Residential Home in Leiston, Suffolk. The home supports children with emotional and social behavioural challenges, between the ages of 9 - 17, and are in need of full time day and night staff to join their growing team.
Key Responsibilities- Encourage healthy activities and hobbies among the young people.
- Support the young people to take responsibility within their own lives.
- Maintain a homely, friendly culture and environment in the home.
- Deal with challenging behaviours when needed.
- Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.
- Provide support for the children and young people in the home and promote their independence and well-being.
- Maintain a safe environment for the young people.
- Ensure the safety of the students and maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the individual's care plan, guidelines, reward system, and preferred method of communication.
- Support taxing behaviour safely and sympathetically.
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with staff, parents, social workers, and other professionals involved in the young people's lives.
- Experience in a healthcare or social care setting (desirable).
- A full driver's license and a car for transporting young people (essential).
- Age 22 or above (essential).
- NVQ or QCF level 3 in Children & Young People (desirable).
- Ability to commute to Leiston and commit to a flexible shift pattern (essential).
