This role is centered around providing a safe and nurturing environment for young individuals aged 9-17 who are navigating various challenges. Our home accommodates up to 4 children, focusing on personalized care to foster their development and well-being.

Role Summary: As an Overnight Childcare Support Specialist, your role is vital in ensuring the safety and comfort of the children during the night. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Monitoring the children attentively
  • Addressing any incidents that may arise
  • Providing a calming presence throughout the night

You will work on a 4 on 4 off schedule to ensure stability and dependability within the home.

Working Hours: 4 on 4 off rolling rota, 22:30 - 08:30

Compensation: £12.87 per hour (subject to experience)

Key Duties:

  • Ensure the nighttime safety and security of the children
  • Conduct regular checks on each child and maintain accurate records of observations
  • Provide emotional support to children as needed
  • Maintain a peaceful and secure atmosphere
  • Efficiently manage administrative responsibilities
  • Communicate effectively with daytime staff for seamless care
  • Engage in meetings and training sessions
  • Lead the night shift with confidence

Qualifications:

  • Education: Level 3 or Level 4 qualification in working with children and young people, or a commitment to obtain one
  • Experience: Previous experience in a residential childcare environment is preferred
  • Skills: Excellent observational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work night shifts
  • Driving License: Preferred but not essential
