About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Outpatient Coordinator to join our team at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. As an Outpatient Coordinator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our outpatient services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and appointment schedules.
  • Coordinate and arrange appointments, clinics, and procedures for patients, ensuring timely and efficient communication with healthcare teams.
  • Process and manage referrals, including electronic and paper-based referrals, ensuring compliance with Trust policies and procedures.
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients, relatives, and staff, responding to queries and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Work collaboratively with healthcare teams to ensure seamless communication and coordination of patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient interactions, including phone calls, emails, and face-to-face conversations.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in patient administration and coordination.
Requirements
  • GCSE A-C grades in English and Maths or equivalent experience.
  • NVQ Level 2/3 in administration/Customer Service or equivalent experience and willingness to complete if required.
  • Previous relevant administration experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, relatives, and healthcare teams.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Proficiency in using IT systems, including Careflow PAS, and other relevant software applications.
