An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Cardiology Nurse to join our esteemed cardiology team within the outpatient sector. We are expanding our cardiac services to incorporate additional vascular and structural procedures, alongside enhancing our cardiac surgery offerings, with the goal of establishing ourselves as the premier cardiology department in the region.

Our facility features a hybrid theatre with cardiology schedules operating from Monday to Saturday, providing a range of procedures including PFO, ASD, Pacemaker insertions, Angioplasty, EPS, Ablation, DCCV, and TOE, with plans to introduce TAVI in the near future.

We have recently achieved a significant milestone, having treated our 100th NHS PFO closure case, positioning us as a leading center for PFO closures in Europe.

We provide comprehensive support for our staff, including multiple funded training opportunities such as cardiology pre-assessment courses, resuscitation training, and two cardiology courses annually.

Key Responsibilities

Primary Duties:

  • Conduct outpatient monitoring and diagnostic evaluations.
  • Perform pre-operative assessments and manage patient care collaboratively with consultants.
  • Coordinate with consultant clinics.
  • Administer and interpret ECGs.
  • Conduct stress testing.
  • Provide support to cardiology patients throughout the hospital, serving as a subject matter expert for other staff members.
  • Promote a regional center of excellence approach to our services.

Candidate Profile:
  • Active NMC registration with no practice restrictions.
  • A minimum of four years of experience in cardiology nursing.
  • ALS certification is advantageous, or a willingness to obtain it.
  • Essential skills in ECG completion and interpretation.
  • Phlebotomy skills are a plus.
  • Self-motivated and confident, with the ability to work independently.
  • Strong organizational abilities.
  • Flexible in work approach and scheduling.
