Spire Healthcare is seeking a skilled Lead Cardiac Nurse to enhance our distinguished cardiology team. We are expanding our cardiac services to incorporate a wider range of vascular and structural interventions, alongside an increase in complex cardiac surgeries, with the objective of establishing ourselves as the premier cardiology department in the region.

Our facility has recently achieved a significant milestone in treating numerous NHS PFO (Patent Foramen Ovale closure) cases, positioning us as a leading center in this specialized area.

Spire Healthcare provides comprehensive support with numerous funded educational opportunities, including courses in cardiology pre-assessment, resuscitation, and additional cardiology training sessions throughout the year.

Our state-of-the-art hybrid theatre is equipped to perform advanced procedures, reflecting our commitment to excellence in patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

As the Lead Nurse, you will guide and mentor our proficient cardiac team to ensure exceptional patient care. Your role will involve diverse responsibilities across various departments, including cardiology pre-assessment, catheterization lab, outpatient services, and supporting wards with cardiac patients.

Collaborating with Cardiology consultants during patient consultations Utilizing your communication skills to assist patients throughout their healthcare journey Performing clinical procedures that require precision, including scrubbing for a variety of complex interventional cardiology procedures and assisting with the implantation of advanced devices as our services evolve. Providing expertise in non-invasive cardiology services within the Outpatient Department Offering cardiology support to ward and critical care patients Ensuring high standards of cardiology care are maintained across all areas of the hospital Preparing the hybrid theatre and outpatient cardiology suite for procedures, ensuring all necessary equipment is available and functional Managing a cardiology list independently and mentoring junior staff as required Supporting all cardiology functions within the organization

Ideal Candidate:

We are looking for an experienced cardiac nurse with a strong background in various cardiac areas, including structural work. Candidates with senior experience or those ready to step into a senior role with the appropriate skills will be considered.

Current NMC registration with no practice restrictions Minimum of 3 years' experience in a cardiac catheterization lab, scrubbing for both routine and complex procedures ALS certification Confident and capable, with the ability to work independently Strong organizational skills Flexible approach to work and scheduling Essential scrub experience, with EPS Ablation experience being a distinct advantage
