Spire Healthcare is seeking a skilled Lead Cardiac Nurse to join our distinguished cardiology team. We are expanding our cardiac services to incorporate additional vascular and structural interventions, alongside enhancing our cardiac surgical capabilities to include more intricate procedures. Our goal is to establish ourselves as the premier cardiology department in the region.

We have achieved significant milestones in our cardiac service, becoming a leading center for specific cardiac procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

As the Lead Nurse, you will guide and support our proficient cardiac team to ensure optimal patient care. Your role will involve diverse responsibilities across various departments, including cardiology pre-assessment, catheterization lab, outpatient services, and supporting wards with cardiac patients.

  • Collaborate with Cardiology consultants during patient consultations.
  • Utilize your communication skills to assist patients throughout their healthcare journey.
  • Perform clinical procedures requiring precision, including scrubbing for a full range of complex interventional cardiology procedures.
  • Provide expertise in non-invasive cardiology services within the Outpatient Department.
  • Offer cardiology support to ward and critical care patients.
  • Ensure high standards of cardiology care are maintained across all areas, including the Theatre Cardiology/Hybrid suite, Wards, and Outpatient Department.
  • Prepare the hybrid theatre and outpatient cardiology suite for procedures, ensuring all necessary equipment is ready and functional.
  • Independently manage a cardiology list and mentor junior staff as needed.
  • Support all cardiology functions within the healthcare facility.

Candidate Profile:

We are looking for an experienced cardiac nurse with a comprehensive background in various cardiac specialties, ideally with prior leadership experience. However, we are open to considering candidates ready to advance into a senior role, provided they possess the necessary skills and experience.

  • Current NMC registration with no practice restrictions.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a cardiac catheterization lab, scrubbing for both routine and complex procedures.
  • ALS certification.
  • Confident and capable, with the ability to work independently.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Flexible approach to work and scheduling.
  • Essential scrub experience; familiarity with EPS Ablation is a distinct advantage.
