Spire Nottingham Hospital is seeking a skilled Cardiology Cath Lab Nurse to join our esteemed cardiology team. We are expanding our cardiac services to incorporate a broader range of vascular and structural procedures, as well as enhancing our cardiac surgery capabilities, with the goal of establishing ourselves as the premier cardiology department in the East Midlands.

Recently, Spire Nottingham Hospital achieved a significant milestone by treating its 100th NHS PFO (Patent Foramen Ovale closure) case, positioning us as Europe's leading center for PFO closures.

We provide comprehensive support through various funded training opportunities, including cardiology pre-assessment courses, resuscitation training, and two cardiology courses annually.

Our facility boasts a cutting-edge cardiac hybrid theatre designed for advanced procedures. Thanks to the hospital's leadership and the commitment of our cardiac unit staff, we have successfully treated over 100 patients from the region.

Main Responsibilities

Key Duties:

As a Cardiology Nurse, you will ensure that our patients receive exemplary care. Each day presents unique challenges, and you will engage in various hospital areas, including cardiology pre-assessment, cardiac catheterization lab, outpatient services, surgical theatres, and supporting wards with cardiac patients.

  • Perform clinical procedures requiring precision and skill, including scrubbing for a comprehensive range of both basic and complex interventional cardiology procedures while assisting with patient care.
  • Support non-invasive cardiology services within the Outpatient Department and Surgical Ward, serving as a subject matter expert to colleagues.
  • Conduct pre-assessments for catheter lab patients.
  • Contribute to a regional center of excellence in service delivery.

Who We Are Looking For:

  • An experienced cardiology nurse with expertise in all cardiac areas, including structural work.
  • Current NMC registration with no practice restrictions.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a cardiac catheterization lab, scrubbing for both routine and complex cardiology procedures, including EPS ablation.
  • ALS certification.
  • Self-motivated and confident, with the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • A flexible approach to work and scheduling.
  • Essential scrub experience; familiarity with EPS Ablation is a distinct advantage.
