An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Cardiology Nurse to become part of our esteemed cardiology team within the outpatient department. We are dedicated to expanding our Cardiac services to incorporate a wider range of vascular and structural procedures, alongside enhancing our cardiac surgery capabilities, with the goal of establishing ourselves as the premier cardiology department in the region.

Our facility features a hybrid theatre with cardiology lists operating from Monday to Saturday, offering a variety of procedures including PFO, ASD, Pacemaker insertions, Angioplasty, EPS, Ablation, DCCV, and TOE, with plans to introduce TAVI in the near future.

We take pride in our recent achievement of treating our 100th NHS PFO closure case, positioning us as a leading center in Europe for PFO closures.

We provide comprehensive support for professional development, including multiple funded courses such as cardiology pre-assessment, resuscitation, and two cardiology courses annually.

Main Responsibilities

Key Duties:

  • Conduct outpatient monitoring and diagnostic evaluations
  • Perform pre-operative assessments and manage patient care collaboratively with consultants
  • Coordinate with consultant clinics
  • Administer and interpret ECGs
  • Conduct stress testing
  • Support cardiology patients throughout the hospital, serving as a subject matter expert for other staff members.
  • Strive to provide a regional center of excellence in service delivery.

Candidate Profile:
  • Current NMC registration with no practice restrictions
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in cardiology nursing
  • ALS training is advantageous, or a willingness to undertake training
  • Essential ability to perform and interpret ECGs
  • Phlebotomy skills are a plus
  • Self-motivated and confident, with the capability to work independently
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Adaptable approach to work and scheduling
