Role Summary:

The Senior Presales Principal Consultant will collaborate closely with the Pursuit Lead to cultivate and manage client relationships from strategic, innovative, and solution-oriented perspectives, ensuring that client expectations are not only met but exceeded.

This role is pivotal in interfacing with technical practices and suppliers, guaranteeing that appropriate support and design principles are adhered to for the engagement and technical framework of projects.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Defence Pursuit Lead and the broader Defence team in crafting and executing Vodafone's Defence Strategy, including identifying and pursuing new opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain peer-level stakeholder relationships within the customer base, suppliers, and internally.
  • Act as the accountable owner for the creation, documentation, and execution of the solution strategy for identified opportunities.
  • Provide Technology Leadership and Solution Ownership for the account and bid teams engaged in pursuing identified opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with Vodafone standards and manage any necessary deviations, defining new standards as required to meet Defence specifications.

Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD) and the UK Defence sector, including familiarity with Defence contractors. Proven experience in leading successful solution outcomes on Defence opportunities and bids is essential.

Demonstrated leadership in Technology, Solution, and Innovation, both internally and across partnerships, is crucial. A strong commercial acumen and understanding of the Defence industry will contribute to achieving commercial objectives.

Experience in formulating solution vision and strategy to address complex needs within secure environments, along with knowledge of relevant industry standards and architectures (e.g., NIST, NCSC, JSP), is required.

Exceptional communication and thought leadership skills are necessary to guide, influence, and persuade diverse audiences, including technical and C-level stakeholders.

This position mandates the ability to obtain and maintain UK Developed Vetting (DV) clearance.
