Position Overview

The role of the Senior Presales Principal Consultant involves close collaboration with the Pursuit Lead to cultivate and manage client relationships from strategic, innovative, and solution-oriented perspectives, ensuring that client expectations are not only met but exceeded.


Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the primary liaison with technical teams and suppliers to guarantee adequate support and adherence to design principles for engagements and deal structures.
  • Assist the Defence Pursuit Lead and the broader Defence team in formulating and executing Vodafone's Defence Strategy, including identifying and capitalizing on opportunities.
  • Establish and maintain peer-level stakeholder relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Take ownership of developing, documenting, and implementing the solution strategy for identified opportunities.
  • Provide technological leadership and solution ownership for the account and bid teams engaged in pursuing identified opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with Vodafone standards and manage any necessary deviations, defining new standards as required to meet Defence specifications.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD) and the UK Defence sector, including familiarity with Defence contractors. A proven track record of leading successful solution outcomes in Defence opportunities and bids is essential.


Key qualifications include:

  • Leadership in technology, solutions, and innovation both internally and with partners.
  • Commercial acumen and understanding of the Defence industry, contributing to business objectives.
  • Experience in developing solution visions and strategies to address complex needs within secure environments.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards and architectures (e.g., NIST, NCSC, JSP).
  • Exceptional communication and thought leadership abilities to guide and influence stakeholders across technical and executive levels.

This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain UK Developed Vetting (DV) clearance.
