About the Role

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated Phonics Intervention Specialist to support young learners in achieving their full reading and writing potential. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of children by providing targeted interventions and fostering a love of learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with class teachers to plan and deliver engaging phonics intervention sessions for Year 1 and Year 2 students.
  • Implement evidence-based phonics programs, such as Read Write Inc. or Letters and Sounds, to enhance reading fluency and comprehension skills.
  • Assess student progress regularly and adapt interventions to meet individual needs.
  • Create a positive and supportive learning environment that encourages active participation and celebrates success.
  • Contribute to the overall development of literacy skills within the school community.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Level 2 or higher qualification in supporting children's learning.
  • Proven experience in planning and delivering small group intervention sessions, particularly in phonics instruction.
  • Strong knowledge of effective teaching strategies for early literacy development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with students, teachers, and parents.
