Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Specialist Occupational Therapist to join our dedicated neurorehabilitation team.

As a key member of the multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation services to patients with neurological conditions. Your expertise will contribute to improving patient outcomes and enhancing their quality of life.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical, cognitive, and psychosocial needs related to neurological conditions.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that address patients' specific goals and functional limitations.
  • Provide evidence-based interventions, including therapeutic activities, adaptive equipment recommendations, and patient education.
  • Collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals, such as physicians, nurses, physiotherapists, and speech therapists, to ensure coordinated care.
  • Advocate for patients' needs and rights, ensuring their voices are heard and respected.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, documenting assessments, interventions, and progress.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development activities to stay abreast of current best practices in neurorehabilitation.
Qualifications:
  • Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy from a recognized institution.
  • Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Demonstrated clinical experience in neurological specialties, such as neurosurgery, neurology, or neuro oncology.
  • Knowledge of relevant national guidelines and standards for neurorehabilitation.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
