We are seeking a committed and experienced Communication Support Specialist to become part of our vibrant secondary educational institution. This role presents a unique opportunity to work closely with young individuals, guiding them to reach their utmost potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized assistance to students facing challenges with speech, language, and communication.
  • Collaborate with the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) and speech therapists to execute tailored educational plans.
  • Contribute to the creation and implementation of communication enhancement programs.
  • Support educators in modifying teaching methods to accommodate the needs of students with communication difficulties.
  • Track and document student progress, providing regular updates to educators and families.
  • Facilitate both small group and individual intervention sessions.
  • Encourage a positive and inclusive educational atmosphere.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience in supporting children or adolescents with communication challenges.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Patience, empathy, and a sincere dedication to fostering student growth.
  • Capability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, certifications in communication support) are preferred.
  • Familiarity with Special Educational Needs (SEN) policies and practices is beneficial.
