Job Description

Job Title: Community Nutrition Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Dietitian to join our Community Nutrition and Dietetics team in Central Lancashire. As a Community Nutrition Specialist, you will be responsible for assessing and implementing care plans for patients in clinic, in their own homes, in nursing and care homes, and possibly at local community hospitals.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assess and implement care plans for patients in clinic, in their own homes, in nursing and care homes, and possibly at local community hospitals.
  • Assist in the training of healthcare professionals and carers.
  • Maintain IT systems that support patient care.

Person Specification:

  • GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English.
  • Degree in Nutrition/Dietetics or equivalent leading to Health Professions Council (HCPC) Registration as a Dietitian.
  • Teaching qualification or equivalent/demonstration of teaching/supervision experience.
  • Compliance with regulatory bodies and codes of professional conduct.
  • Knowledge of current key NHS developments and policies and implications for service delivery.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience:

  • Working in Specialist Mental Health.
  • Working in community.
